September has been wonderful.
I’ve worked 3 shifts so far and it is now September 20th. I have 3 more to go this month. It cannot be understated how much I enjoy not having to go to work. One day a week is fine. One day every other week, even better.
Megan and I have a nice daily routine starting with coffee and overnight oats followed by walking the dog then going to the gym. After lunch we either play pickleball or spend the afternoon reading or working on projects. Pretty simple, pretty nice.
Having the whole week off allowed me the flexibility to pick up and go see Soul Asylum in Virginia Beach with my brother and stay with him a few nights in Williamsburg. The idea was thought up the day before and it actually happened. It was a great show and a fun two nights living the farm sanctuary life. There is nothing like being playfully chased by a goat that wants to bash you with his rock solid skull or a 1,600 pound cow with horns.

“Just run, don’t look back and get behind a tree.” That was the advice given to avoid being trampled by the cow.
After returning home from Virginia, I was able to go to a weeknight show at The Evening Muse to see Clem Snide. This is the second time I’ve seen him come through Charlotte. Other activities include attending Charlotte FC matches, going hiking with a friend in Winston, attending an event and getting autographs from some of the players, playing pickleball, and lounging on the porch.
There are still 10 days left in September.
